Tethered in Faith

Friends

Mutual connections between adult members — friends can message each other directly and become accountability partners.

Two ways to connect

  • From a group or the prayer wall — tap someone's name (in a group's member list, posts, replies, prayer requests, or a message thread) to open their profile, then choose Add friend.
  • By email — on your Friends page, enter the email address your friend signed up with. To protect everyone's privacy, you'll always see the same confirmation whether or not that email has an account.

Either way, they get a notification and can accept or decline from their Friends page. Once accepted, you're friends.

Not a popularity contest

  • There are no followers, public friend lists, or feeds.
  • Your friend count appears only on your own profile, and only you can see it.

Requests

  • Incoming requests wait on your Friends page until you accept or decline — the sender only sees “request sent.”
  • After you decline, the same person must wait 7 days before asking again. You can always send them a request yourself.
  • You can cancel a request you sent while it's still pending.
  • Settings → Profile → Friend requests lets you turn incoming requests off entirely; you can still send your own.

What friends can do

  • Message each other directly — from the profile or the Friends page.
  • Become accountability partners — a weekly checklist you both agree to. See Accountability.

Removing and blocking

  • Remove friend ends the connection. Your direct conversation stays readable but neither of you can send new messages, and any accountability partnership between you ends.
  • Block (on a member's profile) does the same and also prevents friend requests between you. Manage your blocked list at the bottom of the Friends page.
  • Blocking restricts contact; it doesn't hide public posts or prayers. Use Report for content that breaks guidelines.
Friends and direct messages are for adult members only. Members under 18 can't send or receive friend requests.
