Tethered in Faith

Family & minors

Parents stay connected to what their kids do here — linked accounts, permissions, and approvals.

Linking accounts

  • A parent links to a child's account from Family using the child's email — the child confirms the link.
  • Accounts under 18 need an active family link for full community access.

Permissions (per child)

  • Prayer wall — Public wall, Groups only, or Off.
  • Groups — Join freely, Needs my approval, or Off. “Needs my approval” routes every group join through your approval queue and any leader approval the group requires.
  • Messages — Anyone, Approved mentors only, or Off.
  • Mentorship — whether they can request a mentor at all; requests route through your approval.

Approvals

When your child's action needs a decision — joining a group, starting a mentorship — it appears in your Family panel as a pending approval. Approving activates it (subject to any leader gate); declining removes it.

What kids can't do

  • Join adults-only groups — blocked at the database, not just hidden.
  • Message outside their permission — enforced server-side.
  • Create groups without group permission.
Youth-flagged groups welcome minors but always require leader approval, so a responsible leader vets every young member joining.
