Peace in the Storm
Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.
The world’s peace is heavily dependent on circumstances—it lasts only as long as the waters are calm. But the peace Jesus offers is entirely different. It acts as an anchor that holds fast regardless of the storm raging on the surface.
When we are tethered to His peace, our hearts do not need to be troubled by the unpredictable waves of life. We are given the profound ability to rest in the middle of chaos, knowing the One who controls the winds and the waves is in our boat.
Pray
Father, when the world feels loud and chaotic, tether my heart to Your unfailing peace. Help me to look past my circumstances and focus on Your promises. Guard my mind against fear, and let Your presence be my calm today. Amen.
Reflect & discuss
Where in your life are you currently seeking peace through controlled circumstances rather than through Christ?
Bring this to your tether partner or small group this week.
